dinnerladies

by Victoria Wood

performed by BTG February 2008

Three episodes from Victoria's classic TV series.

Beaconsfield Theatre Group performed three episodes from the first series of dinnerladies.

Starting with Monday, the very first episode, it introduces the characters and the various plots that define Victoria Woods' writing style. The main thread is Jean's preparations for the impending wedding of her daughter.

Scandal was the second episode choosen, covering Petula's relationship with Clint, young enough to be her grandson, and the effects it has on the canteen staff and wider factory.

Finally rounding up with Nightshift, this covers the effects a temporary canteen manager has on the team, while the factory as a whole struggles to come to terms with decreasing work loads and a doubtful future, before an emergency job and the associated Nightshift saves the day.
