A Play
Alfie swaggers and philosophises his way through the play with sublime amorality. he allows the audience to eavesdrop as he moves from one 'bird' to another. He carefully rejects anyone or anything that might touch him to deeply, playing life as a game - even when the dice are stacked against him. Written in the early sixties, the play has twice made the screen, first with Michael Caine and more recently with Jude Law in the title role.
